‘VW Modifications’
I’ve done a few bus modifications and I have a whole lot more planned. This section will cover those modifications so that others can get some ideas for their own rides and showcase some of the fun stuff I have planned. Overhead projectors anyone?
Re-Upholstery
When I bought the bus from Steve it was in very good shape. I consider myself fortunate as a lot of people complain about the PO (previous owner) but I had no issues at all. The upholstery in the bus was a bit faded after years of use so I wanted to freshen up my ride a bit. I was already planning a long term trip and it got me thinking that the more time I spend in the bus the more I am apt to spill something in the bus thereby staining the seats. One bonus with owning a high top is that there’s not popping the top which really isn’t that big a deal because popping the top doesn’t actually take much to do. A drawback with owning one is wind resistance. Instead of driving your regular loaf of bread down the road you’re driving a king size loaf of bread. I’ve gotten chucked around pretty bad in wind storms to the point where I’ve had to call it a day and find a place to park for the night. Read the rest of this entry »
